On Friday, July 4th, the Liberal 4th of July Committee will have its Annual 4th of July Celebration. At 9:00 am, there will be a line-up at Trail Street and Kansas Avenue for the Downtown Parade, which will kick off the celebrations. At 10:00 am, the Parade will head north to Light Park along Kansas Avenue.
After then, the celebrations will start in Light Park. The Flower Coop is sponsoring a Little Miss Firecracker competition, and there will be a number of vendors spread out over the park. The new Liberal mural will have a ribbon cutting and celebration hosted by the City of Liberal at 11:30 a.m. Up until 4:00 pm, the festivities will continue. The National Beef Packing Company is providing free admission to Adventure Bay Family Water Park all day long.
After the Liberal Bee Jays’ game against the Dodge City A’s at Brent Gould Field later that evening, there will be a fireworks show open to the public. The City of Liberal, Community Bank, and Foss Motor Company sponsored the fireworks.
