At 10:35 a.m. on Monday, firefighters from Guymon, Goodwell, and Texhoma responded to a reported house fire. A bystander who saw smoke rising from the house noticed the fire at 2433 Rd. Z between Guymon and Goodwell.

When firefighters arrived, they discovered one large mobile home with fire spreading throughout the house. According to Grant Wadley, the fire chief for Guymon, firefighters were also battling gusts of 20 to 30 mph at the time. Only the mobile home was affected by the fire, which was confined by the three departments, but the interior of the house was completely destroyed. At the moment of the fire, Glenn Kingsland’s house was unoccupied.

For two hours, firefighters stayed on the site to make sure the fire didn’t spread past the mobile home. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the fire. $10,000 is the estimated loss of the house and its belongings.
