The County of Seward
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) of the U.S. Department of Transportation is reminding people to respect speed limits and to be mindful of the life-threatening effects of speeding as part of its Speeding Slows You Down high-visibility enforcement and speed reduction awareness campaign. The Seward County Sheriff’s Office will participate in this program from July 7 to July 15 by conducting high-visibility patrols and issuing speeding tickets to violators.Speeding is a violent and lethal habit. It impairs a driver’s ability to maneuver around an unexpected curve, a dangerous object, or another car.Sergeant Bo Jacobs stated, “We are urging everyone to respect the lives and safety of all road users, including their own, by adhering to the speed limits everywhere and at all times.” The law enforces posted speed restrictions. They are carrying out their duty of assisting in the prevention of fatalities and life-altering injuries when everyone complies. All drivers are being reminded to obey the law.
