Liberal, KansasWith the formal launch of Expanded Patient Connect on Tuesday, August 19, Southwest Medical Center is thrilled to provide patients a better and more efficient means of communicating with their medical team.

Two-way messaging, multilingual support in up to 19 languages, and text message appointment reminders for all scheduled appointments are among the features being introduced to help patients be informed and ready for their visits. No app downloads or portal logins are necessary because these reminders will be sent straight to the patient’s phone.

Expanse Patient Connect, which is fully integrated with the MEDITECH Expanse Electronic Health Record (EHR), will also enable patients to confirm or cancel appointments with a single reply, lowering the number of no-shows and increasing scheduling effectiveness.

Among the advantages of Expanse Patient Connect are:

  • Convenient, real-time appointment reminders via text message

  • Easy confirmation or cancellation by replying to the message

  • Support in 19 languages

    , eliminating communication barriers

  • Streamlined staff workflows

    and reduced missed appointments

According to MIS Director Dana Olson, this launch represents a significant advancement in patient communication. It will be simpler than ever for patients to remember their medical appointments and remain in touch with us thanks to timely reminders that will be sent directly to their phones starting this Tuesday.

In order to improve patient engagement and the entire healthcare experience, Expanse Patient Connect will be implemented in phases, with further capabilities to be added later this year.
