The Liberal City Commission convened at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. There was talk of a hangar at the airport and an update on the Treatment Court.
Resolution No. 2435, which requests the removal of restrictions on Lots 1-3, Block 22 of the Airport Industrial Park, was approved by the Commission. The bid of $17,500 was given to Cimarron General Contracting.
In addition to approving the conditions and application process for community events, commissioners approved the Fire Department’s acquisition of four Motorola APX 6000 portable radios and chargers at the stated price of $18,172.32.
The Commission gave its approval for the new City of Liberal logo to be used in branding initiatives.
The survey of all surplus properties in the Airport Industrial Park, for a maximum of $75,000, was also approved by the commissioners. The One Cent Sales Tax’s Economic Development section will provide the funding.
As an additional issue, the commission will continue to debate a prepaid CID for the Dairy Queen project in the amount of $350,000 following a protracted discussion and a unanimous decision of 3-2.
