TOPEKA — Today, Transportation Secretary Calvin Reed and Governor Laura Kelly announced that the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) has awarded $5.3 million for 11 critical transportation construction projects around Kansas through the KDOT Cost Share Program for Spring 2025. Over $8 million will be used for infrastructure upgrades that will boost local economies, increase safety, and improve connections thanks to this state investment, which will be matched by almost $3 million in community matching funds.

The KDOT Cost Share Program is essential to the advancement of transportation projects in both urban and rural locations. Its main goals are to increase safety, encourage job growth and retention, reduce traffic, and improve Kansans’ access and mobility. The initiative is a key component of the bipartisan Eisenhower Legacy Transportation Program (IKE), which is being implemented for ten years during the Kelly administration.

The Cost Share Program has given Kansas municipalities more than $157 million in state assistance since it began in the fall of 2019. It has benefited 197 projects throughout the state and attracted an extra $128 million in local matching money, making it one of KDOT’s most well-liked programs.
