Maricruz Haines, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, is the newest family nurse practitioner at McMurry Family Care Center. Maricruz is eager to help people and families in the Liberal area because of her considerable nursing experience, solid foundation in patient care, and strong dedication to community health.

Haines is proud to have graduated from multiple regional institutions, including Washburn University in December 2024 with a Doctor of Nursing Practice, Oklahoma Panhandle State University in May 2018 with a Bachelor of Science, Seward County Community College in May 2015 with an Associate of Science in Nursing, and Frank Phillips Community College in May 2014 with a Licensed Vocational Nurse certificate. She holds a Family Nurse Practitioner certification from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

In her new position, Haines brings a wide range of clinical experience. She has had a number of positions, such as travel nurse at Aya Healthcare, registered nurse at Southwest Medical Center and Heritage Community, and medical assistant and registered nurse at McMurry Clinic. She initially discovered her love for healthcare while working as an office assistant at Seaboard Foods.

Empathy, advocacy, and a dedication to patient empowerment are the cornerstones of my treatment philosophy, Haines says.Every person has a different tapestry of physical, emotional, cultural, and spiritual demands, in my opinion. My mission is to promote healing trust by using evidence-based, compassionate practices.

A personal family issue prompted her to pursue a career in nursing. She was touched by the compassion and expertise of the nurses who looked after them after she accompanied her brother on a medical flight after a catastrophic accident.

She claimed that in addition to stabilizing my brother, they also soothed and consoled me during one of the most terrifying times in my life. That encounter demonstrated to me the emotional and clinical strength of nursing.

Maricruz loves to spend time with her husband, three kids, and two stepchildren while she’s not working. She enjoys family life and lifelong learning, whether she is baking, reading, gardening, going to sporting events, or traveling to new places.

The McMurry Family Care Center is where Haines currently sees patients. The majority of major insurance policies are accepted at the clinic, which also welcomes walk-ins and new patients. For an appointment, please give (580) 338-3361 a call.
