Residents and guests are invited to the City of Liberal’s ribbon-cutting celebration for the brand-new Dorothy’s Slipper Slide attraction. The event will take place at the Tourist Information Center, located at 1 Yellow Brick Road, on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.

This isn’t your typical playground slide, standing nearly ten feet tall and more than eighteen feet long. Visitors of all ages will be delighted by the sight of a sparkling, enormous crimson shoe tumbling down. This amazing new landmark, which offers a fanciful and thrilling trip, is a testament to Liberal’s historic legacy as Dorothy Gale’s official home.
Stay and be among the first to ride this lovely slide, and join in for the ribbon cutting. Savor fun, food, entertainment, and activities. Cross the street at dusk to enjoy a movie presented by the Dorothy’s House Coronado Museum.
