Colby, Kansas.Tuesday saw the announcement of the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 1 Men’s Soccer Preseason Coaches Poll.
Seward was chosen by the league coaches to place fourth out of six schools. The league was predicted to be won by Cowley, Barton, and Dodge City. Coffeyville and Garden City were tied for fifth place, while Seward was chosen to finish fourth. After the 2024 season, KCKCC fell to Division 2, leaving the Division 1 team with six schools to contend with next season.

In 2024, the Saints finished in fourth place out of seven teams in the league with an overall record of 8-6-5 and a conference record of 3-4-5.
Head coach Jaime Beltran, who was brought on board to launch the program in 2022, is back to lead the charge for the third season. In both seasons, the Saints have finished at or above.500 and have qualified for the Region 6 Tournament. After defeating KCKCC in the quarterfinals for their first-ever playoff victory, Seward advanced to the Region 6 Semifinals in the 2024 season.
Eleven of the Saints’ 2024 student-athletes are back.
To wrap off the preseason schedule, Seward will travel to Tabor University on Tuesday, August 19th, for a 7 p.m. game after playing an exhibition against Oklahoma Panhandle State on Thursday at 7 p.m. On Saturday, August 23rd, at 7 p.m., Seward will play their season opener at Redskin Field against Trinidad State College.
